Hello There!

My name is Desi.

My early life was chock-full of videogames, my Dad’s music and skate culture. Discovering skateboarding changed my life.... and ultimately moved me towards UX design.

Every season going forward was spent on four wheels. Every push had intent to roll forever. For the first time, I found something I could do for myself that brought the satisfaction of freedom and discovery. Skateboarding has an odd way of making you feel invincible, but can also be quickly humbling by introducing a pebble in the street. Through skateboarding, my eyes opened to resilience and reiteration. Finding different ways to make things work fascinated me. This trait later carried itself into a heavy interest in photography and led to graphic design.

As a designer at On One Studios, creating an idea from nothing quickly became a passionate challenge. Wanting to go even deeper, I finally discovered UX. Today, I am a Product Designer who channels all of my learning experiences from gaming, skateboarding and design into meaningful features that make users feel at home again, like a timeless vinyl record on a rainy day.

Throughout all of my self-discovery, my experiences have brought me back to landing on four wheels. Life has proven to me that resilience is a sturdy key to carry in your back pocket. As an avid fan of idea-exploration, the goal is still to push with intent to roll forever. There is no better feeling than freedom and discovery, and no better lesson than a pebble in the street.
